Build Relationship with the Messianic Community
Supporting Jewish ministries is important, but Nic Lesmeister, director of the Gateway Center for Israel, examines why church leaders and pastors should also focus on building relationship within the Messianic Jewish community as well.

Dr. John Townsend says that everything meaningful in life happens through relationship. And I want to encourage you that as you take a step of obedience with God to blessing Israel and the Jewish people, maybe you’re giving to support ministry to the Jewish people, maybe you’re just praying for Israel in your church. Make it a priority to build relationship with the Messianic Jewish community. These are Jewish believers in Jesus who maintain a Jewish life, and they are a witness to their people that Jesus is the Messiah. And we at Gateway, of course, have been very blessed. We believe God has enriched our church because we have been faithful to give to the Jew first and to make Israel a priority in our church. But I have to tell you that inside of that, I believe the blessing that none of us ever really experienced or expected to experience was through the relationship with the Messianic Jewish community.
There’s something dynamic that happens as you submit yourself as a pastor or church leader to a Messianic Jewish leader. And as they submit themselves to you, there’s a learning and a growing that begins to take place that I believe is so supernatural. So I want to encourage you to reach out to a Messianic Jewish leader and begin to build relationship. And if you don’t know any Messianic Jewish leaders, reach out to us. We’d love to put you in touch with them. We believe that this is a foundational element of enrichment for you as a pastor and as a church leader.
