Educate yourself about Israel and Jewish life

“It is God’s privilege to conceal things and the king’s privilege to discover them” Proverbs 25:2, NLT

There has never been a time in history when knowledge has been as accessible as it is today. We can find the answers to nearly every question we have by consulting the smart phones in our hands.

So, when something grabs our attention, we ought to search, verify, clarify, and then walk with knowledge. When you take the time to educate and discover for yourself why Israel and the Jewish people are so important, and then share that knowledge with others, you are blessing Israel!

Here are a few ideas on how you can educate yourself on Jewish history, Messianic Judaism, the feasts and holidays, and the Holocaust:

1. Visit Israel

The most amazing way to learn about a country, its people, and its culture and history is to travel there! At Gateway, we take people to Israel every year and see them completely transformed on these trips. Learn More Here

2. Read

There are many wonderful books available: The Irrevocable Calling by Dr. Dan Juster; Your People Shall Be My People by Pastor Don Finto; God’s Appointed Times by Barney Kasdan; and The Jewishness of the Gospel by David Stern are just a few. Even secular historical accounts of the Holocaust and modern Israel’s establishment can give you a “now” perspective on the nation. There are also many websites, social media accounts, and newsletters put out on a regular basis by excellent Messianic ministries in Israel and elsewhere. Contact us if you need any recommendations.

3. Watch

We have MANY teachings available at Gateway Church regarding Israel and Jewish ministry.

4. Earn a Degree

God may even lead you to further your academic education, such as earning an undergraduate or graduate degree through the Messianic Jewish Studies program at The King’s University.

Beyond educating yourself, share what you learn at your church! Make them aware of current Jewish issues. For instance, anti-Semitism is escalating around the world. The rising statistics are alarming. Will your church stand with Israel if the going gets tough? Spread the news wide and far that the Church must love Israel in these last days.

If you follow these five simple steps, don’t hesitate to share with us your stories! Let us know what worked for you and what did not.

We are convinced that God has ultimately blessed us to be a blessing! How will He lead you today to bless Israel, His “most precious possession” (Zech 2:8)?

Again, if you have any questions, we are here to help you and guide you to a healthy engagement with Israel and the Jewish people.

On behalf of Nic and the Center for Israel team, it has been a great joy for me to share this series with you.
