How do we Love Both Israelis and Palestinians?

With the war going on in Israel right now, it’s easy for people to start saying, I stand with Israel, or I stand with Palestine, or I love Jews, or I love Arabs. And the truth is, we’re pulled to one place or the other, and we have to resist the urge to be pulled out of a love for both people.

The Bible makes it clear that God sees the world as Jews and Gentiles or Israel and the nations, and he sees them both as equally valuable. So it’s not our job to determine who’s more important to God, Jews, or Arabs. It’s only our job to love people, and it’s only our job to speak out when there’s injustice. There’s a lot of injustice that’s been happening to the Jewish people, and we need to speak out about it. There’s a lot of injustice that’s happened to the Palestinians because of the ugly atrocities of their terrorist leaders, Hamas. We need to speak out about it. But at the end of the day, we have to maintain a commitment to be kind, to be loving, and to be compassionate in our language. We’re not choosing sides. We’re just trying to stand with God for justice, righteousness, and what his word says in our lives and on earth.
