Jewish, Gentile, and Christian. Are There 3 Categories in God's Eyes?

One of the misunderstandings of something that Paul says in Galatians 3:28 when he says, there’s no longer Jew or Gentile slave, or free male or female, has come out in the form of something called Third Race Theology or Third Race Theory. And this is the view that essentially you can look at the world as Jews, Gentiles, and Christians. That Gentiles are people who are not Christian, but also not Jewish. Why this is really unhealthy is because this is not the way the Bible paints humanity. The Bible is a book of Jews and Gentiles, and when people put their faith in Jesus, they remain a Jew or a Gentile. It’s really that simple. There is no third race. There is no superior form. Christianity is not better at enhancing your identity as a Gentile or better at enhancing your identity as a Jewish person. These are both distinctions that God gave to us in creation, and when we put our faith in Jesus, we are taking the ultimate form of following him and enhancing our identity as followers of Jesus first and Gentile second, or Jewish people second. So we refute third race theology. It undermines who God is and it’s a distorted view of the Church: Jew and Gentile United together in Jesus the Messiah.
