How Do You Convert to Messianic Judaism?

Something I hear people asking every once in a while is how do you convert to Messianic Judaism? And I just want to answer that shortly and simply… You don’t.

If you’re Jewish, if you were born Jewish, that means you have a Jewish parent or a Jewish grandparent, then you don’t make any kind of a conversion to continue to live a Jewish life, you just continue to live a Jewish life. And when you put your faith in Jesus, you don’t convert to Christianity, you just become a Jewish follower of the Jewish Messiah, Jesus.

So if you’re Gentile, you don’t convert to Messianic Judaism. There’s no process for that because you don’t convert to Judaism, you remain gentile when you put your faith in Jesus, grafted into the promises God gave to the Jewish people. And if you’re Jewish, you don’t make a conversion to Messianic Judaism, you just continue to live a Jewish life expressed by faith in Jesus as you follow him.
